MR. SURFACER
Yes at last you
have found someone that has managed to get some of the
world famous 'Mr. Surfacer'.
'Mr.Surfacer
now comes in 3 grades, 500, 1000 and an even finer 1200. The 500 is the
thickest of the three, I use it for cast armour texturing,
2 coats for US and German armour and 3 coats for
that just out of the foundry look that Russian armour
lends it self to so well. Just paint on a coat, let it
start to dry and then stipple on another coat, and hey
presto, cast armour.
Makes a convincing weld seem as well, applied in a
rolling stipple fashion between two strips of Dymo tape.
But it's uses do not end with armour, one customer
wanted some to 'paint on lace' to a Napoleon figure.
The 1200 and 1000 as with the 500 makes for an excellent filler
and primer, especially over photo etch.
But enough of my opinions, get some, have a go and tell
me what you think, Mr. Surfacer is not the only way to
achieve the above effects but for me it is the easiest.
Give some of the other products a go and tell me what
you think.
